Peter Knize & John Sullivan

RVgeeks

Unsure of Your Vision or Talent? Become an Entrepreneur Anyway!

Peter Knize & John Sullivan, better known as The RVgeeks, have been RVing full-time for nearly two decades.

After their first couple of years on the road, they decided to continue RVing indefinitely, so they needed to earn a nomadic living. They pooled their combined skills to create RVgeeks Website Design, catering exclusively to RV parks.

In 2011, John & Peter started making How-To videos for friends who’d just bought their first RV, inadvertently creating one of YouTube’s most popular channels about RVing, which they followed up with a blog — TheRVgeeks.com — to augment their video content.

With over 200,000 subscribers, the success of the RVgeeks channel and blog led to another opportunity in 2018: broadcast television! They signed on as co-hosts and co-executive producers of a documentary-style TV show, The RVers, which is currently filming its 4th Season for The Discovery Channel and PBS.

Peter & John have appeared in just about every type of RVing venue, including RV shows, rallies, magazines, podcasts, and other popular RVing blogs. They’re making their third speaking appearance at the annual Xscapers BASH in January 2022.

Remote Work Options for RVers in a Post-Pandemic World

She and her husband Bryce learned how to reinvent themselves with remote work. They started their first website MoreThanAWheelin.com and tried over twelve different remote jobs.

Camille went on to launch Remote Work School, where she has helped hundreds of people find the right remote work to live a flexible lifestyle.

Kavanagh’s Adventures

Planning for Alaska – What you Need to Know

Charlie and I began our RV’ing life by traveling with our kids during our summer vacations. As school teachers, we had 8 weeks to cram in all the fun we could out west and race back to New York and the grind of our fulltime jobs. We promised ourselves that one day we would do this full time.

After our second retirement, we sold the house and belongings and set out for our fulltime adventure. Partime RV’ing and fulltime are two different things and within our first week, we stumbled into Dome Rock in Quartzite for what would be the first of many fun and informative experiences with the most caring and inclusive group of people.

We learned so much from our Xscaper family and are happy to pass along any help we can to those just starting or someone looking for a new boon-docking spot. This January 2021 marks the beginning of our 6th year “On the Road” as full-timers and we can’t imagine stopping anytime soon.

Daniel Heming

Getting Started with Solar

Starlink Internet – What is it and how does it work?

My wife and I started our full-time RV’ing adventure in Aug 2017. Prior to RV’ing, we had traveled all over the US by motorcycles on a week or two vacation once or twice a year, but we were hooked on traveling and wanted to do it full time, yet we still needed to work. I had already been working remotely so it was an easy transition to the full-time RV lifestyle.

The solar on our first rig was a pretty modest system with 800w of solar on the roof, a 200w ground deploy, a 2k Watt Go power inverter, and 6 6v lead-acid batteries. We even managed to run a residential fridge off this setup after our RV fridge died. Our current RV system is 3015W of solar (9 335W residential panels) on the roof, dual Victron 24v/3000W inverters, and 8 lithium batteries. I designed it to be capable of running a 15kw rooftop A/C all day and still charge fully in the summer. It’s an amazing system.

Living on the road with no compromise – The Tiny House on Wheels alternative

After our children moved out of the house, we decided we needed a smaller more flexible footprint. We wanted to live and travel full time on the road.

Both corporate professionals, we had done some small projects around the house. We brainstormed what we would really want, looked at the options, and then sat down to design our own tiny house on wheels. From 5,000 sq ft to under 300. After we took a class on how to build one, we know we could do it and the rest is history.

We learned so much in the building process as well as from now living and traveling in it for a year and a half.

Healthy RV Living: Food & Fitness Tips While Traveling

We are Chris and Aaron, a married couple who have been traveling the country while running our online fitness and nutrition coaching business since January 2019.

Prior, we both worked corporate careers in management, sales, and operations in Minneapolis, MN until we realized our passions were elsewhere. These were spending time with each other, the love of food, maintaining a healthy lifestyle with fitness, and traveling this amazing country.

We look forward to adventurous bursts of overlanding, balanced with the comforts of our RV back at basecamp. Chris is a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach working online with clients all across the country.

Whereas Aaron is on the tech side creating/maintaining the website (Irene Iron Fitness), as well as doing all of the YouTube video productions. About 6 months into our travels we started a YouTube channel (Irene Iron Travels) to share our lifestyle and experiences with others just as we had been inspired a few years before. The channel is a reality-style showing the day-to-day mobile living as well as our travels around the country.

Hollie hails from Northern Michigan and is a US Navy Veteran. In 2017, after suffering the loss of some close friends, Hollie and her husband Aaron decided life was too short to wait until retirement to fulfill their dreams of RVing around the country. They sold their belongings and bought their first RV in May of 2017 and were on the road, fulltime by September. Shortly after beginning their journey, Hollie discovered the Xscapers. It took one convergence and she was hooked for life!

As the new Convergence Director, Hollie hopes to keep the party going with new and exciting locations and events. She wants to continue to build the community and ensure that we create space for both OG Xscapers and newcomers, alike!

Paige’s fondest desire came true in 2019 when she became an Xscaper and a full-timer with her husband and two cats. She loves the freedom and adventure of their life on the road and her passion for RVing is fueled by her work as a Product Owner for RV LIFE.
